Use 1-2 pillows below your head while lying down for initial 3 days.
You will need to take medicines (antibiotics and pain killers) for initial 5 days according to the prescription provided to you.
Avoid alcohol for next 24 hours.
You may take shower below neck next day onwards. DO NOT get the head wet for initial 3 days.
Use prescribed shampoo on alternate days from 4th day onwards as per instructions (just dabbing, no rubbing). Rubbing over the transplant site must be avoided for initial 3 to 4 weeks.
Hairspray, hair dye, powder etc. should be avoided for initial 3-4 weeks.
You will notice a scab (protective layer) on the transplant site. DO NOT try to remove the crusts (scabs) too soon. A scab will fall off on its own about 5-15 days after surgery. You may notice hairs coming out with the scab, this is normal. Hair roots are retained inside and will start growing after 12 – 16 weeks.
Helmet, T-shirt or any tight pull over clothing that may rub over the grafted area should be avoided for initial 3-4 weeks.
You may use a loose cap / hat if you like.
Strenuous physical activities should be avoided for about 3 – 4 weeks.Full instructions will be supplied to you after the procedure.
